What We Do
Clinical Insight for Medically Complex Legal Cases
Rigaud & Bloom Legal Nurse Consulting is a collaborative legal nurse consulting practice specializing in medical record review, case merit screening, clinical case analysis, and medical-legal consulting. Our primary focus is supporting Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice attorneys who need efficient, clinically informed insight into medically complex cases.
We help attorneys make informed decisions about potential and existing cases by translating complex medical records into clear, organized, clinically meaningful information.
How We Operate
Rigaud & Bloom Legal Nurse Consulting is a collaborative DBA used by two independently owned and operated businesses: Kaity Rigaud LLC and Kayleigh Bloom LLC. Kaity Rigaud and Kayleigh Bloom each maintain their own independent LLC and professional business operations.
Our collaborative DBA allows us to provide services together when a case benefits from the perspective and review of both consultants.
One of the distinguishing features of our practice is our dual-consultant peer-review process. When a collaborative service is requested, one consultant performs the initial review and analysis while the other independently reviews the work. This peer-review process is designed to provide an additional layer of clinical scrutiny, enhance quality, and help identify information or considerations that could otherwise be overlooked.
Our consultants bring independent clinical perspectives to each case while maintaining the collaborative quality-assurance process that defines Rigaud & Bloom Legal Nurse Consulting.
Our role is clinical—not legal. We do not provide legal advice, determine legal liability, or make legal conclusions. Instead, we evaluate the medical evidence and provide clinically based analysis to help attorneys and individuals better understand the medical aspects of a case.
Services for Attorneys
We primarily serve Personal Injury and Medical Malpractice attorneys and law firms. Our services are designed to help attorneys efficiently evaluate medically complex cases and determine where additional investigation or expert involvement may be appropriate.
Case Merit Screenings & Clinical Opinion Letters
We review available medical records and relevant case information to provide a clinically focused assessment of the apparent medical strengths and weaknesses of a potential case.
Our opinion letters may include:
● A synopsis of the pertinent medical history and events
● Relevant diagnoses, procedures, treatments, and clinical findings
● A chronological overview of significant medical events
● Identification of clinically significant inconsistencies or gaps
● Potential causation considerations
● Relevant pre-existing conditions
● Areas requiring additional investigation
● An overall clinical assessment of the apparent strength or weaknesses of the medical case
This service can be particularly valuable during the initial case screening process, helping attorneys determine whether a potential case warrants further time, resources, and expert evaluation.
Medical Record Review & Analysis
We review and analyze medical records to identify the information most relevant to the legal matter.
Depending on the case, this may include:
● Emergency department and hospital records
● Physician and specialist records
● Operative and procedure reports
● Diagnostic imaging and reports
● Laboratory results
● Medication records
● Rehabilitation records
● Nursing documentation
● Follow-up care
● Relevant pre-existing medical conditions
Our goal is to help attorneys quickly understand what happened, when it happened, what treatment was provided, and what the medical evidence demonstrates.
Medical Chronologies
We organize extensive medical records into clear, chronological timelines that allow attorneys to efficiently follow a client's clinical course.
Chronologies can help identify important events, changes in condition, treatments, complications, and potential gaps in care or documentation.
Identification of Missing or Relevant Records
We identify potentially important medical records that may not have been included in the materials initially provided for review.
Recognizing missing records early can help attorneys obtain a more complete picture of the client's medical history before making important case decisions.
Expert Witness Sourcing & Support
We can assist attorneys in identifying and sourcing appropriately qualified medical expert witnesses when expert testimony or consultation may be warranted.
Based on the medical issues involved in a case, we can help identify the appropriate clinical specialty and assist in locating potential experts whose qualifications and experience may align with the needs of the matter.
Our role is to assist with the clinical and medical aspects of expert sourcing; attorneys remain responsible for evaluating and selecting experts appropriate for their legal matter.
Ongoing Medical-Legal Consulting
For cases requiring continued clinical support, we can provide additional medical record review, analysis, chronology updates, and other consulting services as new information becomes available.
Services for Individuals
We recognize that navigating a potential medical injury or malpractice matter can be overwhelming—particularly when you are unsure where to begin.
Free Initial Consultation
We offer individuals a free initial consultation to discuss their situation and help provide direction regarding potential next steps.
The purpose of this consultation is to help you understand whether obtaining legal
representation, gathering additional medical records, or pursuing medical-legal consulting may be an appropriate next step.
If your situation appears to have potentially significant medical or legal issues and you have not yet attempted to obtain legal representation, we will generally recommend that you first seek consultation with an appropriately qualified attorney.
We believe individuals should have the opportunity to understand their legal options before investing in a private medical-legal review.
If you have already attempted to obtain legal representation, or if consulting services are otherwise appropriate for your situation, we can discuss whether a medical record review, case analysis, or clinical opinion letter may be beneficial.
Please note: A consultation with Rigaud & Bloom Legal Nurse Consulting does not constitute legal advice or establish an attorney-client relationship.

Gain an additional layer of clinical review.
Our collaborative peer-review process provides independent clinical review designed to enhance the quality of our work product.

Our Goal
Our goal is to give attorneys and individuals clinical clarity when medical evidence is central to a legal matter.
Whether you are an attorney evaluating a potential Personal Injury or Medical Malpractice case or an individual trying to determine where to turn next, we can help you better understand the medical information and identify appropriate next steps.
Fees & Engagement
Our services are provided on an hourly basis at:
$150 per hour
A $1,000 retainer is required to begin services.
Because Rigaud & Bloom Legal Nurse Consulting consists of two independently owned LLCs,
the retainer is divided equally:
● $500 paid to Kaity Rigaud LLC
● $500 paid to Kayleigh Bloom LLC
Each consultant maintains independent billing and business operations.
The retainer is applied toward professional services as work is completed. Once the retainer has been exhausted, additional services are billed according to the applicable service agreement and our standard payment terms.
